Alkor Bio Group has announced a new service: the development of test systems for the order

At the beginning of 2015 Alkor Bio Group – the Russian developer and manufacturer of the assay kits for laboratory diagnostics - announced the market launch of new service: the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory has started developing and producing the test systems based on PCR (polymerase chain reaction) for third-party organizations.  Tests based on PCR are widely used for identification and the quantitative analysis of microorganisms, identification genetic polymorphisms (changes in genome’s structure) and other researches. In the first place In this service may be interested medical genetic centres, diagnostic laboratories and research institutes.

The test systems developed by Alkor Bio Group are based on Real-Time PCR. The main advantages of Real-Time PCR are: integration of stages of reaction and detection, in addition to reducing analysis time it reduces the risk of cross contamination; a possibility of quantitative analysis; high specificity and sensitivity.

Two alternative schemes of analysis are offered for research of genetic polymorphisms. The first is based on the classic TaqMan method, wherein the signal rise is detected due to hydrolysis of specific probes during PCR . And the second one is based on the duplex analysis, in which polymorphisms discrimination occur due to the difference in the melting temperature of probe-PCR product duplexes with polymorphism and without. The advantage of the method based on duplex melting is the ability to identify new polymorphisms because any changes in the examined DNA sequence are reflected  in the melting temperature of the duplex. Thus both schemes of the analysis allow to make definition of several polymorphisms in one test tube. However, the duplex analysis twice more productive: one channel of detection thermocycler is required for analysis of one polymorphism. In the classical TaqMan method - two channels.
