Alkor Bio Group has developed test systems for scientific epidemiological studies that allows to differentiate subtypes of human herpesvirus 6

In October The Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory of Alkor Bio Group completed development of the diagnostic kit "Intifika HHV6A / HHV6B» intended for definition of subtypes A and B of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV6). This work was conducted in conjunction with the Pasteur Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. Developed new diagnostic kit will be used to assess the prevalence of subtypes HHV6 in the North-West region of Russia. It should be noted that according to foreign researchers in most cases of identifying herpesvirus 6, preferably identified subtype B and in rare cases subtype A. The goal of the St. Petersburg researchers not only to estimate, how the HHV6 subtype A is widespread in the territory of the Russian Federation, but also to find out, whether the сlinical manifestations and severity of the disease depends on the herpes virus subtype.

The new test system was developed by The Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory of Alkor Bio Group using its own reagents: Taq M polymerase (highly purified recombinant Taq DNA polymerase with a chemical modification at the active site to provide "hot start") and oligonucleotides synthesized in the same laboratory.
