Alkor Bio Group has launched 15 new allergens

In April 2016 Alkor Bio Group's Laboratory of Allergology completed the development and transferred to the production 15 new allergens, including 1 recombinant allergen component of carrot - rDau c 1 Carrot.

At the present time, Alkor Bio Group produces 582 allergens, including 20 native and recombinant allergen components.

Overwhelming majority of new allergens is food: horseradish, pumpkin seed, Kohlrabi, Napa cabbage, Turnip, Green tea, Macadamia nut, Chamomile tea, Oregano, Mate. Besides, drug allergen’s group supplemented with three new allergens: Thiamine (Vitamin B1), Folinic acid, Cephalothin. One more allergen from epithelia group and one recombinant allergen component have launched too: chicken droppings and rDau c1 Carrot.

Dau c1 – is the main allergen of carrot. It is an allergen component of family of pathogen-related proteins (PR-10) and is homologue Bet 1. Allergen component is thermally unstable and loses its immunological properties during the preparation. High level of immunoglobulins to this component is observed in 70-80% of patients who have a positive reaction to birch pollen and apple or carrot extract. This protein (Dau c1) may also predispose to allergic reactions to Rosaceae family fruits, hazelnuts and cause local allergic symptoms of medium severity.

It should be recalled that Alkor Bio Group is the only one Russian company, established allergen components production for mass using in clinical practice of in vitro allergy diagnostics, and keep the leadership on the Russian ELISA tests market for allergy diagnostic.
