Alkor Bio Group's Laboratory of Allergology has launched 18 new allergens

Alkor Bio Group's Laboratory of Allergology completed the development and  transferred to the production 18 new allergens for in vitro allergen diagnostics. Thus, today Alkor Bio Group produces 555 allergens, including 17 allergen components. During 2015 Alkor Bio Group has launched 135 new allergens, and it is the only one Russian company, which produce allergen components for mass use in the clinic practice in vitro allergy diagnostics, and keep the leadership in the Russian market of ELISA kits for allergy diagnostic.

Overwhelming majority of new products in December are drug allergens: Theophyllinum, Mepivacainum, Neomycinum, Acidum p-aminobensoicum (B10), Captoprilum, Naproxenum, Oxacillinum, Metronidazolum, Epinephrinum. The line of insect allergens (moth Heterocera, aphid Aphididae, red wood ant Formica spp.) and the line of pollen allergens (Syringa vulgaris, Prunus avium, Salix alba, Carpinus betulus) are extended too.

The most interesting development are two recombinant allergen components - rApi g 1 Celery and rPar j 2 Pellitory Parietaria judaica. Par j 2 is the main allergen of pellitory. IgE and Par j 2 were found in 70% of patients with allergic reactions to pollen of weeds. Using this allergen component allows to select appropriate immunotherapy in the case of mixed allergic reactions. Api g 1 - is the main allergen celery, it loses its immunological properties during the heat treatment. This allergen component has cross-reactivity with the pollen of birch, apple, carrots, nuts, soy. About 70% of patients with an allergy to birch pollen (Bet v 1) can experience symptoms after eating the celery and other above mentioned products. In 2016 the development of new allergens, allergen mixturesand allergen components in the Alkor Bio Group's Laboratory of Allergology will be continued.
