Sequoia genetics on a FEBS 2013 in Saint-Petersburg

Sequoia genetics is the participant of International Congress of European Biochemical Societies Federation 2013.

The 38th Congress of European Biochemical Societies Federation - one of the most representative events for demonstration of latest achievements in field of fundamental biochemical sciences - will be held in St. Petersburg in July 6-11.

The biotechnology company Sequoia genetics, an Alkor Bio subsidiary (Saint-Petersburg), will participate in the congress satellite symposium "Disease investigation from gene to clinical manifestations" which will be held under the patronage of Life Technologies corporation. Alexander Pavlov, Sequoia Genetics CEO, the head of Neonatal NGS-diagnostics project, will deliver the report "NGS in clinical practice. Newborn screening" at the symposium. Report will be focused on prospects assessment of usage next-generation sequencing in clinical practice, as well as practical experience of Sequoia genetics in this field with reference to newborn screening. The project is being implemented with the support of Skolkovo.

Until this year the Congress took place in Russia only once, in 1984. This year the Congress is called "Mechanisms in Biology". More than 3,000 delegates from all over the world - Russia, Europe, USA, Canada, Israel, Japan and China - will attend the Congress, and 12 Nobel Prize winners will arrive. 40 thematic symposiums on key issues of medical biochemistry, biophysics, proteomics, genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, biotechnology, immunology, stem cell biology, cell biology, etc. will be held. An exhibition of scientific and biomedical equipment will be organized on the Congress.
