Saint-Petersburg biotechnological group Alkor Bio has moved to a new building, located at Jeleznodorojniy pr. 40, building A.
In 2010 «Alkor Bio» company had purchased four-storied building of 7560 m2 total areat to unite all the departments located at 4 taken on lease sites. The selling rate was 200 mn rubles, 70 mn of which were at once spent for the first step of the reconstruction, that started in January 2011.
Dmitry Polyncev has commented the occasion, mentioning that there had been several reasons for the purchase: first of all, there is always a need for the complicated infrastructure, at the same time it is useless to invest into the reconstruction of the rented facility; secondly, there is a need of capitalization, meaning that the company is supposed to own assets, which, in Russia, usually means property; thirdly, the company had a financial ability to make this investment.
The choice of a the address, Jeleznodorojniy pr. 40, was not accidental. Earlier the chemical factory was located in the same building, which means it has originally been designed & built for the chemical laboratory needs. Nowadays Alkor Bio’s plant & laboratories are situated in it. In the nearest future the company «Trans-Tehnology», a member of Alkor Bio group, will move in too.
At present the ground & the second floor had already undergo reconstruction. Beside the laboratory & the industrial area, the conference room has been customized. As the result of the second step of the reconstruction the whole floor for clerks will be renewed, the dining room, the gym & the kindergarten for the employee’s kids will be built.
