Alkor Bio Group has developed the DNA isolation kit from whole blood and tissue material without preliminary preparation of sample

In the middle of February Alkor Bio’s Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics finished the development of new express protocol for DNA extraction with “Express-DNA-Bio” kit production of Alkor Bio Co. Ltd. This allow extract DNA from whole blood and tissue materials without difficult prior sample preparation. What does it mean? It means that you need only 200 µl of blood, the kit “Express-DNA-Bio” and about 15 minutes for DNA  extraction. DNA extraction from tissue is the same, but you need 100-150 mg of homogenized tissue instead of blood. During the five-minute lysis occurs denaturation of protein complexes and cell destruction. After following centrifugation, protein complexes and cell debris form pellet.  Supernatant contains clear DNA suitable for PCR.

DNA extracted by this method  is working well with Taq AB polymerase, which is also designed by Alkor Bio Group as the PCR-reagent (Highly purified recombinant enzyme Taq DNA polymerase, is blocked by two antibodies, providing high-performance “hot start”).

It should be noted that the kit “Express-DNA-Bio” has a registration certificate of Russian Federal Service for Supervision in Healthcare and CE-marked since 2014 year. Initially this kit was developed for DNA extraction from saliva, urine, scrapings of epithelial cells from the mucosal of the cervical canal and the urethra for subsequent laboratory analysis by molecular-biological method, including Real-Time PCR. During the development of kits for genetic diagnostics developers from Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics revealed new and very useful kit properties for research.

The Head of PCR-Diagnostic’s Group Vitaly Vedernikov said:

“The extracted DNA from tissue and whole blood by “Express-DNA-Bio” is good for genetic analysis as well as for the diagnosis of infection diseases. DNA-extraction from tissue with subsequent laboratory analysis of various pathogens could be useful for studying of the causes of abortion in veterinary medicine.”
