In April the construction of the Stem Cells Bank’s “clean premises” Complex was finished in a new building of the bio-technological holding company Alkor Bio. After that the Bank moved to its clean area, especially prepared for it.
We would remind you that earlier the production and scientific-research laboratories of the Group Alkor Bio have moved to its own four-storey building with the whole area more than 7 560 sq. m. Before moving of the company Trans-Technologies’s Stem Cell Bank to the new area, it was decided to build a modern clean room of a higher class than the previous one. The holding company has invested about 10 million RUR into the construction of the “clear premises” Complex with the area more than 150 sq. m.
The “clean premises” Complex of the Trans-Technologies Company meets the international standard GMP. It means, that personal keeping of umbilical human blood hematopoietic stem cells in the Stem Cell Bank will be performed according to EU rules of medical agents production and cell technologies researches.
It should be noted that for the present moment the Trans-Technologies Company is the only biotechnological company in the North-West of Russia, which operates with human stem cells in a clean area of such high class (class B).
A clean area is an airtight construction, built according to the type “room in the room”. In the clean room calculating aerosol fraction concentration is controlled: this room is designed and used so to minimize any entering, generating and accumulating fractions in it. Besides, it is possible to control other parameters: temperature, humidity and pressure. Microclimate; air hepofiltration; surplus pressure between rooms of different clearness classes; air shower, which moves off microparticles from autoclaving suits – these are the attributes of the “clean premises” Complex.
Besides, after the moving The Stem Cell Bank of the Trans-Technologies Company was equipped with inner communication and telemetry systems. There was an automatic liquid nitrogen feed system settled in a cryogenic storehouse with stem cells specimens. By turn, the storehouses itself are equipped with twenty-four-hour computer all parameters monitoring systems controllers. Moreover, this system tracks and registers temperature and liquid nitrogen levels in tanks. Electronic register journals are kept on the company’s server. All these measures allow guaranteeing high level of safety and specimens storage quality.
Besides the Stem Cell Bank, there is a scientific-research laboratory and a separate isolation ward for operation with animal cells in the Trans-Technologies Company. Its clearness class is not as high as in the clear area of the Bank, but still all necessary requirements to the work with biological material are met.
