In 2016 Laboratory of Allergology of Alkor Bio Group has launched 12 new allergens and has planned the development of new products for allergen diagnostics

In February of 2016 Alkor Bio Group’s Laboratory of Allergology completed the development and transferred to the production 12 new allergens and has planned the development of new products for in vitro allergen diagnostics.

Thus, today Alkor Bio Group produces 567 allergens, including 19 allergen components. During 2015 Alkor Bio Group has launched 135 new allergens, and it is the only one Russian company, which produce allergen components for mass use in the clinic practice in vitro allergy diagnostics, and keep the leadership in the Russian market of ELISA kits for allergy diagnostic.

During 2016 Alkor Bio Group has planned a launching 140 new allergens and 10 allergen components more.

New allergens of February: food (oyster mushrooms, cuttlefish, crayfish, anchovy, snail), epithelia (chinchilla’s epithelia), tree pollen (mesquite (prosopis juliflora), Arizona cypress (Cupressus arizonica)), grease (cattail broadleaf (Typha latifolia)), and weeds (kochia broomcorn (Kochia scoparia)).

Furthermore, Alkor Bio Group has launched 2 allergen components: nFel d2 the cat serum albumin and nCan f3 the dog serum albumin. All serum albumins are cross-reactive allergens. Cross reactions may be occurred between serum albumins as a composition of epithelia (dog, cat, mouse, rat), meat (beef, pork, mutton) and between epithelium of different spices of animal origin (meat and milk). For example, Anaphylaxis progressed among patients with sensitivity to the allergen of cat epithelia after they ate pork. Serum albumins of cat (nFel d 2) or dog (nCan f 3) epithelia are also very important household allergens, which can be cause of serious anaphylactic reactions. The patients with allergy to the epithelium of pets have a high risk of progress asthma.

Speaking of plans to the 2016 The Head of Alkor Bio Group’s Allergology Laboratory Lyudmila Kochish noted: “In 2016 we make more new allergen of pollen group by tree pollen, food by vegetables, fruits, nuts, meat and milk products, fish and seafood, and spice. Besides, we have planned to increase the range of moulds (it is due with an increase of allergen reactions to the moulds) and drugs and professionals allergen: dyes and enzymes, which is using by food or light industry”.
