Vega Ltd. - the winner of the Contest for the best innovation project in science and higher education of the Saint-Petersburg

Vega Ltd. as a part of Alkor bio Group of Companies with its project “The development of microarray based diagnostic kit for simultaneously detection of allergen-specific IgE antibodies in human serum” became a winner of the Contest for the best innovation project in science and higher education of the Saint-Petersburg, 2011 in nomination “the best innovative idea in science”.

The awarding ceremony was hold on the 29 of September as a part of the governor’s state reception within the framework of the IV International Innovation Forum.

“The development of multiplex in vitro allergy testing systems are very important for present days, due to rising levels of allergic patients in population. The final stage of our research project will be a microarray based diagnostic kit, which could be able to detect low levels of specific-IgE antibodies against variety allergens. These data will improve the probability of correct diagnostic of hypersensitivity. In this project we utilize some innovative approaches to make test cheaper and more reliable”, - said the author and leader of this project - Head of the Laboratory of molecular diagnostic Alexander Pavlov.

In vitro allergy testing is a most proper problem, which should be solved using microarray principle. This platform allows doctor to conduct even neonatal allergy screening, that was impossible before with ELISA-based kits.
