Sequoia genetics start the marketing of new next-generation sequencing solution intended for diagnostics of inherited diseases in newborns

In January 2014 Sequoia genetics (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) announced that the development of diagnostic solution intended for diagnostics of inherited diseases in newborns based on the next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology has been completed. The solution named VariFind Neonatal assay based on Ion PGM (Life Technologies, US) sequencing platform and consists of reagents kits, protocols and specialized software.

Sequoia genetics begins clinical trials of NGS-based diagnostic solution in Europe

Sequoia genetics Co. Ltd. announced the beginning of clinical trials of diagnostic system for severe hereditary diseases detection in newborns and carrier state in couples planning a family. The developed molecular genetic solution is based on next generation sequencing (NGS) technology and consists of reagents kits and specialized software. Since the solution is designed for the mutation detection in clinics a special attention has been given to the issue of traceability and unambiguity of sequencing results in order to ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of the assay. To provide extensive clinical trials Sequoia genetics established partnership with several European laboratories: Institute of Molecular Pathology and Immunology of the University of Porto (IPATIMUP, Portugal), StabVida company (Portugal) and the Center for Genome Research at the University of Liverpool (UK).

Sequoia Genetics specialists will report on Bioinformatics Summer School

The first Bioinformatics summer school set up by Bioinformatics Institute (Saint-Petersburg) and the MSU School of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics (Moscow) will be held from July 29th till August 4th. The program of the event is aimed at students and young scientists studying bioinformatics and undergraduate and postgraduate students specialized in math, engineering and biology.

Alkor Bio Group has widened the range of Drug Allergens

In May 2013 the Allergology Lab of Alkor Bio Group has developed 9 new drug allergens, including paracetamol, aspirin, tetracycline, erythromycin, and etc. Thus, Alkor Bio produces 11 allergens of this group for the present period.
